At Expert, we know that we have always been able to recognise our own star developments, applications, and projects, and now we have recognised another star development in New Zealand Space flight. This particular star that drew our attention was the team at Kiwi2Space.
As the first New Zealand entrants in the N-Prize competition, these true D.I.Y. New Zealand Pioneers are going to send a reusable rocket into space for a total of no less than 9 orbits of the planet, and at on-day launch cost of under £9,999.99. This competition is only available to amateur rocket enthusiasts, and its intention is to recognise ingenuity over resources. Having been presented with the proposed plan of action from the Kiwi2Space team, expert decided to jump on board and support this group of soon-to-be-famous rocket enthusiasts. This site was designed, built and hosted free of charge for the Kiwi2Space team as our recognition of the potential that exists within their team, and their plan.
Working with Iain Finer of Kiwi2Space, expert identified site objectives from a marketing and web perspective, and developed a site to fit in with the goals of these New Zealand icons.
Fitting with the low budget, backyard approach to rocket design that is being used by this team, a template was created based around a work bench, with the teams logo, images of their rockets, the New Zealand Silver fern, and Number 8 wire all being used to portray this team, and their position within New Zealand.
A news section was then created, functioning as a blog platform for the team, where regular updates can be posted, and comments from followers can be posted. This provides a form of interactivity with the general public, where all are able to track the progress of Kiwi 2 Space, and post support to the team.
Navigation was also established based upon a notebook look, with clear indication of the page that a visitor is on, and their progress through the site. Social Media icons and links were also incorporated into the hand-drawn approach to this site, further portraying the informal nature of Kiwi2Space.
With sponsorship being a focus of Kiwi2Space, to assist in their development of launch facilities, and progress to the final stage of the £9,999.99 rocket, a large amount of attention has also been given to sponsorship on this site. With a rotating sponsors banner appearing on each page, and a separate sponsors page thanking and promoting each sponsor, while linking through to their respective homepage, this site will also assist this team in generating revenue for the ongoing Research and development that is required to reach space.

We encourage all that are able to make whatever contribution you can to their efforts to prove that a Kiwi isn't just a flightless bird. With a little support from New Zealand followers, this team are certain to achieve great things.
