Victoria University of Wellington Law Students Society (VUWLSS)

With Voluntary Student union membership (VSM) coming into place at the start of 2012, student societies and student associations across the country found themselves presented with a new challenge.

While there is no argument that the majority of Student Associations do add value to student life, it is how that value is communicated to the students that will determine the ongoing success of these student associations.

No longer can they rely on students being members by default, instead student associations now need to not only offer serious value to students, but also communicate this value clearly to all members.

With Expert Developments having a close relationship with VUWLSS (two of our staff having been previous members), we felt that VUWLSS was a great case to show how smart web design and online membership enhancement tools can add value to membership, increase member participation, and create a platform that clearly communicates to current, past, and prospective members of VUWLSS.

Through the use of MoST's smart tools such as:

VUWLSS now have a strong online presence to add value to student membership, while also delivering a professional appearance of the group.

In fitting with the new website, Expert Developments also designed a new logo for the association which reflects its traditional heritage, and role within Victoria University of Wellington. As in each website development project, Expert Developments ran through the complete professional design process, ensuring that this new site encaptures everything that makes VUWLSS what it is.
