Application and Workflow Process for the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC)

ANMC are responsible for handling imigration requests for nurses and midwifes planning on moving to Australia.  Previously, this was done via a paper based application process and data entry into a Microsoft Access database.  At busy times of the year, this process could cause delays in processing applications as far as three months.

Expert created a multi page application process that can be entirely managed via a web application to collect application data from imigrants with the ablility to save and resume progress and perform data logic serving up questions based of previous responses.  The application process also performs credit card transactions to handle application payments.

When an application is completed, the system emails a PDF application form and invoice to the applicant and stores it along with the applicants details in MoST's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System.

When the application form is returned with any required physical documentation, each supporting document is checked off in a workflow process.  Once all documentation has been received and checked off the application is then reviewed by an assessor who then approves or declines the application.

The applicant is also able to log into the website and check the status of their application, review any outstanding documentation and change any contact or personal details.

A windows service monitors the progress of each application and emails approval, declined or reminder emails to applicants, as well as generate and email import MYOB data files to the accounts personnel.

The new process has saved significant time on the previous application process.

The system was written in VB.NET, ASP.NET 3.5 utilising ASP.NET Membership Services, AJAX.NET and Telerik Web Controls.
